Experimenting with brushes and found some “Dry Media” brushes. Charcoal, pencil type textures. Was good fun doing this – a little rushed but good fun. He’s a cute boy. Runs in the genes.

Grabbed a picture of my son and had a go at replicating it. Did this in Photoshop. Starting to get hooked. Forgotten how cathartic drawing is.

Here’s another effort using the graphics tablet. When I was a little younger I read a lot of Manga style comics and this sketch is an endeavour to emulate that style.

An illustrator friend kindly gave me his Intuos2 A4 drawing tablet. Had to order a new pen for it which arrived today. Very excited, as this means I can get back into drawing and painting without having to go through the whole rigmarole of paints, materials, brushes etc…
